The Rover XP started as a Kickstarter because the duffels on the market were made for airport carousels, not tailgates. It skips the pockets and the flash in favour of what survives: heavy‑gauge zippers that don’t catch or split, grab handles reinforced where roof‑rack straps load them, and a water‑resistant bottom panel for the wet truck bed and the dewy forest‑road morning. Both bags are 29 inches long by 13 wide by 13 tall and weigh 3.5 lb, so even the big one packs flat when empty.
Load the 60L with camp gear and the 40L with clothes. Or send the 60L up top on the rack and keep the 40L behind the seat with the stuff you’ll want at a stop. Or keep one in the rig permanently and one in the closet for flights. However you split it, you stop buying duffels.
