Description
Small propane has always meant a choice: haul a 20 lb tank, or keep buying green bottles and throwing them away. The TapRack takes the green bottle’s size and makes it refillable the right way, at a propane station, by someone who does it all day.
Here’s how it works. Four 15.5 oz “Pounder” bottles twist onto a steel rack with a single main valve. You take the whole rack to any place that fills BBQ tanks (U‑Haul, hardware stores, propane dealers), they fill all four at once in a minute or two, and you twist the bottles off and go. Each bottle has a patent‑pending double valve and a quarter‑turn connector that can’t cross‑thread, and a bleeder valve so the filler knows when it’s full. The rack breaks down into two pieces for storage.
The bottles connect to anything that takes a standard green bottle: two‑burner stoves, portable heaters, lanterns, and propane fire pits. Run more than one at a time and they feed a FireCan like a bigger tank would. A full rack holds about 0.9 gallons (3.9 lb) of propane across the four bottles.
Everything is UL, DOT and Transport Canada certified for transport in a car, SUV, RV or boat. Green bottles run $6–10 each now and most end up in the trash; the TapRack pays for itself in roughly five refills and then keeps paying.
