Savory Campfire Scramble Burritos Recipe

Serves: 2

Gear: Skillet or small griddle, spatula, camp stove


Ingredients:

  • 4 eggs, beaten
  • 1/4 cup milk or water
  • 1/2 cup cooked ground beef or trail sausage
  • 1/4 cup shredded cheese
  • 1/4 cup canned or fresh black beans
  • 2 flour tortillas
  • 1 tbsp oil or butter
  • Salt & pepper
  • Optional: diced onion, hot sauce, foil

Instructions:

  1. Heat the skillet with oil or butter. Sauté onion (if using) for 1–2 minutes.
  2. Add cooked meat and beans. Warm them through.
  3. In a bowl or camp mug, whisk eggs and milk. Pour into the pan.
  4. Scramble everything together, stirring until eggs are fluffy and set.
  5. Turn off the heat and mix in the shredded cheese. Let melt.
  6. Spoon mixture into tortillas. Add hot sauce if you’re bold.
  7. Wrap in foil and warm on low heat for 2–3 min if you want that classic “toasted burrito” finish.

Trail Tip:

Pre-crack your eggs into a sealed bottle before the trip for easy pour-and-cook action.
