Description

Small propane has always meant a choice: haul a 20 lb tank, or keep buying green bottles and throwing them away. The TapRack takes the green bottle’s size and makes it refillable the right way, at a propane station, by someone who does it all day.

Here’s how it works. Four 15.5 oz “Pounder” bottles twist onto a steel rack with a single main valve. You take the whole rack to any place that fills BBQ tanks (U‑Haul, hardware stores, propane dealers), they fill all four at once in a minute or two, and you twist the bottles off and go. Each bottle has a patent‑pending double valve and a quarter‑turn connector that can’t cross‑thread, and a bleeder valve so the filler knows when it’s full. The rack breaks down into two pieces for storage.

The bottles connect to anything that takes a standard green bottle: two‑burner stoves, portable heaters, lanterns, and propane fire pits. Run more than one at a time and they feed a FireCan like a bigger tank would. A full rack holds about 0.9 gallons (3.9 lb) of propane across the four bottles.

Everything is UL, DOT and Transport Canada certified for transport in a car, SUV, RV or boat. Green bottles run $6–10 each now and most end up in the trash; the TapRack pays for itself in roughly five refills and then keeps paying.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does refilling work?

Mount all four bottles on the rack and take it to any place that fills BBQ tanks. They fill through the single main valve, about 0.9 gallons total. Twist the bottles off and go.

Can I refill it myself at home?

No, and that's the point. Home refilling of small bottles is messy, rarely fills them fully and is illegal in many places. The TapRack is built for professional filling stations.

Does it ship full?

No. All four bottles ship empty. Fill them before your first trip.

What do the bottles connect to?

Anything that takes a standard 1 lb green bottle: two-burner stoves, portable heaters, lanterns and propane fire pits. No adapter needed.

Will it run a FireCan?

Yes. Use two or more bottles together for fire pits and other high-draw appliances, the same way you'd use a bigger tank.

Can I refill green bottles or other brands on the rack?

No. The rack only fits Ignik TapRack bottles. It is not compatible with single-use bottles or Flame King / Fuel Keg refillables.

Can I buy extra bottles?

Yes, Ignik sells Pounder bottles separately. Ask us if you don't see them listed.

Can I put a half-empty bottle back on the rack?

Only when you're about to refill. Connected bottles share fuel and pressure, so don't store partials on the rack.

Is it legal to carry in my truck or RV?

Yes. It's UL, DOT and Transport Canada certified. Keep it upright and out of a sealed trunk or cab.

How should I store it?

Upright, in a ventilated garage, shed or covered spot outside. Never in the house or a space attached to living quarters.

How much does it hold?

About 0.9 gallons (3.9 lb) of propane across the four bottles, roughly the same as the Gas Growler 3.8, split into four grab-and-go bottles.

Can I return it?

Yes, unused and unfilled, under our 90-day guarantee. Filled bottles can't be shipped back. Not available for sale in North Carolina.
